Benefits of using a local Cemfloor supplier

A Cheshire based Cemfloor supplier can provide a more responsive service to local customers. As a local Cemfloor supplier, Clockwork Screed can collaborate with other trades, many of which we have worked with before, to be on site quickly, when we are needed.

Your local Cemfloor supplier knows the local area well and can recommend other trades you may need. Using a Cemfloor supplier also keeps transport to a minimum which is better for the environment and keeps costs down.

Our Cemfloor supply and installation services in Cheshire

Clockwork Screed’s Cemfloor supply and installation services are efficient and cost-effective.

We use our mobile screed plants to batch-produce your screed on site. This means we only produce the volume of screed you need so there is no waste and you only pay for what you use. We then pump the Cemfloor screed directly to wherever it is needed in your Cheshire property. Once applied, Cemfloor self-levels and self-compacts (fills spaces without the need for vibration or other compaction methods) to produce a smooth, level floor without manual intervention.

Cemfloor vs traditional screed: what’s the difference?

Here is a summary of the differences between Cemfloor and traditional screed:

Cemfloor

Cemfloor is made from cement and high-performance additives. Cemfloor dries very quickly, typically within 24 to 48 hours, so that other trades aren’t delayed in getting onto site quickly to lay a final floor covering.

Due to its extraordinary strength, Cemfloor can be laid at a depth of just 25mm which saves on the volume of screed required and also enhances the performance of underfloor heating systems.

Traditional screed

Traditional screed is made of sand, cement and water. It has been used over many decades in construction projects. Creating smooth, level floors from traditional screed requires additional labour. Guides such as battens or screed rails are positioned at the required height after which a straightedge or screed board is used to level the floor.

Traditional screed can take several weeks to cure and dry.

How Cemfloor improves floor performance and longevity

How Cemfloor improves floor performance and longevity

Cemfloor’s unique properties make subfloors exceptionally strong and durable with a compressive strength of over 30 Newtons/mm2 and an impressive shrinkage rate of under 0.05%. Cemfloor provides a uniform, smooth surface that enhances the appearance and durability of a final floor covering.

In properties with underfloor heating, Cemfloor enhances the responsiveness of the underfloor heating system thanks to its thin application and exceptional thermal conductivity. Also, because it self-compacts, Cemfloor does not produce bubbles or voids around the pipework from which heat could escape.
