Cemfloor liquid screed

Cemfloor liquid screed is used by property developers, architects and contractors to create smooth, level subfloors ready for a final floor covering.

Cemfloor liquid screed

Cemfloor is a free-flowing, cementitious liquid screed. Liquid screeds are now widely preferred over traditional sand and cement screeds due to their fast installation and drying times, strength and performance.

Pumped onto wherever it is needed, liquid screed produces smooth, even floors that are compatible with most floor finishes such as laminate, tiles and wood flooring.

Cemfloor is a leading liquid screed brand. Here, we explain why Cemfloor is so regularly specified by contractors and developers.

What is Cemfloor?

Cemfloor is a BBA approved, high performance liquid screed. The BBA is the British Board of Agrément, which is an independent UK-based organisation that provides certification, testing and auditing for construction products and installers. BBA approval is an industry symbol of quality and reliability in line with national and European standard safety and performance benchmarks.

Contractors use Cemfloor for a variety of commercial and domestic applications including:

  • Subfloors across all building levels
  • New build projects and renovations
  • Underfloor heating systems
  • Wet rooms – Cemfloor is compatible with wet spaces, both indoor and outdoor
  • Unbonded or floating floors (on top of insulation)

Benefits of installing with Cemfloor

For property developers and contractors, the benefits of installing with Cemfloor are:

  • Cemfloor is an exceptionally strong and durable liquid screed
  • The levelling boards and labour needed for traditional screed are not required with Cemfloor because it self-levels
  • The thickness of the Cemfloor application only needs to be 25mm to provide the subfloor quality and performance contractors need, which mitigates customer costs
  • Cemfloor is ideal for rooms with underfloor heating because it offers exceptional thermal conductivity and improves the performance and responsiveness of the underfloor heating system
  • The thin application allows Cemfloor to dry within 24-48 hours, ready for other trades to come onto site. Traditional screeds can take weeks to dry properly
  • Cemfloor self-compacts which prevents bubbles forming around underfloor heating pipework, thereby containing the heat.

Benefits of liquid floor screed

There are many benefits of Clockwork Screed liquid floor screed over traditional sand and cement screed:

  • Quick to install – Clockwork Screed teams can cover 1000m² in a day
  • Self-levelling – liquid screed self-levels to create smooth floors, avoiding the need for additional labour and equipment
  • Quick drying – our cementitious liquid screed can accept footfall within 24 to 48 hours, allowing other contractors onto site quickly and avoiding costly delays
  • Exceptionally strong – liquid screed is hardwearing and durable, producing floors with a long lifespan
  • Thinly laid – Clockwork Screed liquid floor screed can be laid at a depth of just 25mm which optimises the product to floor size ratio
  • Underfloor heating applications:
  • Liquid floor screed self-compacts so doesn’t create air pockets around underfloor heating pipework
  • The thin application improves the underfloor heating system’s performance and even distribution of heat
  • The liquid floor screed’s consistency generates exceptional thermal conductivity.
  • Shrinkage rates – Clockwork Screed liquid floor screed has a low shrinkage rate of 0.05%
