We first connected with Mr. and Mrs. Tyzack during our participation in The National Homebuilding and Renovating Show at the NEC. Their project involved converting existing structures on their property into an eco-home, with plans for both personal living space and potential office or Airbnb usage.

Given the unique dimensions of the buildings and the specific insulation needs, traditional installation methods were not feasible. We closely examined the project plans and proposed the use of our advanced poured insulation material. This material could be efficiently delivered, pumped, and installed by our experienced team. Additionally, we offered to coordinate Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) calculations, incorporating both Aereomix insulation and Cemfloor liquid screed.

PLANNING AND APPLICATION

Upon submitting the SAP assessment and a comprehensive quotation, we were thrilled to receive approval to proceed. The project was divided into two phases, with consecutive Friday pours scheduled for the insulation and screeding.

Logistics posed a challenge, as the project site was situated in Chepstow, while our base was in Manchester. To ensure smooth operations, our mobile screed and insulation machine were transported closer to the site the day before. Our support vehicle then embarked on an early morning journey. 3:30am from Manchester to Chepstow, ensuring the necessary equipment was in place for a seamless workflow.

Insulation and Screeding Process

The Clockwork Team arrived at the picturesque property nestled in Monmouthshire's scenic countryside. The initial task was to pour 27 cubic meters of insulation, covering the entire ground floor. This phase was executed flawlessly, setting the stage for the subsequent screeding process. Returning the following Friday to install the screed top, we poured 11.5 cubic meters of our premium Cemfloor liquid screed into the property. Our skilled team expertly applied and finished the screed, creating a smooth and even surface.

The property's lengthy and winding driveway presented a single set-down area, making multiple truck movements impractical. Furthermore, the remote location of the property posed logistical difficulties in sourcing suppliers for same-day service.

Clockwork Screed's solution streamlined the process, equivalent to installing over 80 sheets of PIR insulation in a single morning. This method eliminated the need for cutting or tapping, resulting in minimal waste and optimal resource utilisation. Our preparation evident through the availability of 60 meters of pipework on-site (we carry over 100m) facilitated uninterrupted operations. This level of preparation ensured that work proceeded smoothly, and potential disruptions were minimised.
