Liquid floor screeding services
Clockwork Screed has been providing liquid floor screeding services to customers across the North West for over three decades.
What are liquid floor screeding services?
Have you ever wondered what are liquid floor screeding services and why liquid screed is widely preferred to other screeds?
Liquid floor screeding services involve the pumping of screed onto a subfloor to produce a smooth, level surface upon which a final floor finish, such as tiles, carpet or laminate, can be laid. Liquid screed is less labour intensive than working with traditional screeds, yet still offers impressive durability and strength.
Benefits of liquid floor screeding for commercial and residential projects
Liquid floor screeding is beneficial for both commercial and residential construction or refit projects. The benefits of liquid floor screeding for commercial and residential projects include:
Speedy application
When laying liquid floor screed, Clockwork Screed teams can cover 1000m² in a day which is particularly ideal for large commercial projects
Self-levelling
Liquid floor screed self-levels so doesn’t require manual intervention to achieve a perfectly level floor
Thin application
Only a thin application of 25mm is required for liquid floor screed due to its exceptional strength. This minimises cost and allows for an easier transfer of heat from underfloor heating systems
Quick drying
Liquid screed dries very quickly compared to other screeds, allowing footfall within just a couple of days which speeds up the completion of commercial and residential projects
Impressive shrinkage rate
Clockwork Screed’s cementitious liquid screed has a shrinkage rate of under 0.05% which reduces the risk of cracking and minimises the number of expansion joints required.

Liquid floor screeding for underfloor heating systems
Liquid floor screeding is ideal for underfloor heating systems.
Clockwork Screed liquid floor screeding offers outstanding thermal conductivity which enhances the performance of the underfloor heating system. In addition, liquid screed self-compacts which eradicates the risk of voids around the pipework from which heat could escape. The thin application of liquid screed also maximises the responsiveness of the underfloor heating system.
Our liquid screed installation process
Our liquid screed installation process, using our cementitious self-levelling liquid screed, involves four key stages:
Preparation
The subfloor is meticulously prepared to ensure there is no debris, oil or grease that could impact installation. The subfloor is also primed to maximise adhesion
Mixing
The liquid screed is mixed to the required specification
Pouring
We pour the screed onto the floor using a pump, starting at the furthest point from the door
Drying and curing
The screed is left to dry for however long is necessary to allow light footfall (24 – 48 hours) and cure (fully dry to allow the application of a final floor finish).
