Clockwork Screed - liquid screed company Macclesfield
Clockwork Screed is a reputable liquid screed company for customers in Macclesfield. Whether you are working on an extension or driveway at your home, or you are a contractor working for a client, Clockwork Screed can help.
At Clockwork Screed we are screed specialists with several decades of experience in the supply and installation of liquid screed. Our cementitious, high performance liquid floor screeds can be used with or without underfloor heating.

We batch-produce screed on-site using our innovative mobile screed factories that are located inside our mixer vehicles. We then pump the liquid screed to wherever you need it to be installed. This means we always produce the exact amount of screed you need for the job. There is no waste and you don’t pay for more screed than you use, or for extra load charges to make up shortfalls.
Liquid screed benefits
Liquid screed benefits homeowners and contractors on projects of all sizes.
Cementitious liquid screed from Clockwork Screed offers the following benefits:
· Our liquid screed is exceptionally strong and durable and can therefore be laid as thinly as 25mm
· Cementitious liquid screed is self-levelling so produces exceptionally smooth, level floors
· Such a thin layer allows the screed to enhance the performance and responsiveness of underfloor heating systems, allowing for an even distribution of heat across a room
· Liquid screed self-compacts, so doesn’t create air pockets around underfloor heating pipework
· Our liquid floor screed dries very quickly, allowing footfall within 24 to 48 hours. This means other trades can get onto site quickly after application
· Floor finishes can be applied to our cementitious liquid floor screeds when moisture levels are at 2.5%CM (Calcium Carbide Method). For anhydrite screeds, the moisture levels need to have reduced much more to 0.5%CM, which can take months to achieve.
· Clockwork Screed liquid floor screed is highly durable with impressively low shrinkage rates of just 0.05%
· Our liquid screed can be used to create larger slabs with fewer expansion joints
· No surface dust (laitance) is produced by our liquid screed after curing
· Liquid screed subfloors are compatible with all cement-based adhesives
· The Clockwork Screed installation team can cover over 1000m² a day which is good for project timescales. We can install up to 100m² without joints if underfloor heating is fitted, increasing to 150m² if not.

The installation process
For smooth, durable floors, the following liquid screed installation process should be followed:
· The surface must be cleaned to remove any debris or particles
· Any remaining laitance must be removed
· The floor should be sealed with a watertight membrane before applying adhesive or liquid screed
· Expansion foam must be installed around the edges and at any joints, such as doorways, to accommodate the way liquid screed expands and contracts in response to temperature changes. This will stop the liquid screed from cracking or lifting
· Prepare the liquid screed pump in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, making sure the hose reaches the area where the screed is to be poured
· Begin pouring – start at the end furthest away from the door.
